Oregon Trail

http://www.virtualapple.org/oregontraildisk.html

Anyone remember this game? I'm 26 years old and distinctly remember how much fun I had playing this game in elementary school. I thought that some of you may enjoy taking a trip down memory lane for a few minutes......or hours. This is also a great way to get younger students interested in actual events in U.S. History. Do not try to cross the rivers.....your wagon always tips over!

Yes, I absolutely remember this game! We used to all race each other to see who would finish the trail first. Looking back, it really touched on a lot of topics: budgeting money, the names and locations of places along the trail, rationing, and life in general as a pioneer. My favorite part by far was rafting down the river at the end of the game. Great throwback!

I remember playing this game, too! Also, I have seen first and fourth graders use it and benefit from all the various aspects.
